  • “Gamble Worth Taking”: England Great On Possibility Of Jofra Archer Playing Birmingham Test vs India

England announced the squad for the second Test against India, starting from July 2 at Edgbaston, with pacer Jofra Archer included in the team.

Former England skipper Nasser Hussain shared his thoughts on the inclusion of right-arm seamer Jofra Archer for the second Test, where he believed that the Three Lions have played a “gamble worth taking” by including him in the line-up. England announced the squad for the second Test against India, starting from July 2 at Edgbaston, with pacer Jofra Archer included in the team after over four years. England is leading the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar trophy 1-0 following a five-wicket win at Leeds.

Speaking on Archer’s inclusion, Nasser Hussain said, as quoted by Sky Sports, “Firstly you have to say it’s good news for Archer and England in that Jof must have been through so much with those [elbow and back injuries], the rehab, the pain, the mental torment of continually getting injured and making comebacks, so it’s great to see him back in the squad, he hasn’t played a Test match for four years. Fundamentally, if you’re an England fan, you should be pleased to see Jofra Archer back in a red ball squad.”

Further, the 57-year-old said that playing the spearhead in the second Test would be a “risk too much this week” as he believes the bowler’s body is not fully fit.

“I think it’s too much of a risk this week, but it may have gone so well – I don’t know Jofra Archer’s body – it may have gone so well that they say ‘we’ll play you this week’. Then the problem is, who do you leave out? I do think it is a gamble worth taking, I just don’t know if it’s worth taking this week. I would do it a week after at Lord’s,” he added.

  • “Didn’t Have Virat Kohli’s Aura”: ‘Reactive’ Shubman Gill Given Captaincy Reality Check

India faced a shocking five-wicket defeat against England in the first Test of the five-match series on Tuesday in Leeds.

India faced a shocking five-wicket defeat against England in the first Test of the five-match series on Tuesday in Leeds. Chasing a target of 371, England did not face much hiccups as Ben Duckett smashed 149 runs and helped the hosts take 1-0 lead in the series. It was a horrific outing for India as despite scoring five individual centuries in the match, Shubman Gill and co ended up on the losing side. India’s new era in Test cricket, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, began on a forgettable note as former England skipper and Ravi Shastri brought out some issues in the young skipper’s leadership.

Speaking on Sky Sports with Ravi Shastri, Nasser pointed out that Gill lacked the on-field aura like Virat Kohli.

“I thought I saw someone just finding his way, honestly. You’ve got to be very careful in the first Test match, the people he’s taken over from, Kohli, and then Rohit Sharma. I thought he didn’t quite have that on-field aura as the names I mentioned there. You look down on those two previous names, and you immediately see who was in charge of India,” said Nasser on Sky Sports.

“I looked down from the press box, the commentary position, there were a lot of captains; it was a bit captaincy by committee, which can happen in your early days as a leader because you’re still senior players like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul want to try and help you out as much as possible. I thought he followed the ball a lot. I thought he was reactive as opposed to proactive,” he added

  • Gautam Gambhir Faces Heat Over Revealing Big Team ‘Secret’ After 1st Test Defeat

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to feature in the 2nd Test against England, starting July 2 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Before Team India’s departure to England, head coach Gautam Gambhir had confirmed that Bumrah will only play three of the five Tests, citing workload issues. With India 0-1 down in the five-match series, following the loss in Leeds earlier this week, Bumrah’s likely absence in Birmingham could significantly impact their chances of making a comeback in the series.

However, former India opener Aakash Chopra has questioned Gambhir for the lack of secrecy surrounding Bumrah’s workload. Chopra feels that Gambhir and management could have kept England guessing about Bumrah’s availability.

“Bumrah said he will play three matches only, and I am thinking whether it was required to publicise it. Why was it not kept a secret? We don’t announce our team as well. So why was it necessary to reiterate it repeatedly before the start of the tour that he would play three matches only? Let them guess. You play whichever Tests you wish,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

After he fainted, she smashed his head with a heavy door frame. During the murder, only the victim’s 75-year-old hearing-impaired mother was present in the house.

Reena and Satish’s call details revealed they spoke over the phone for long hours. Obscene photographs were also recovered from their phones. When interrogated, Reena confessed she had an affair with her nephew. Her husband already had a whiff of their relationship, she told the cops.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar said that two weeks before the murder, the victim had a fight with some people. Based on this, two people were arrested for his killing.

“But further probe revealed an affair between the victim’s wife and nephew. The victim had come to know about their relationship and had fought over it with his wife. After that, it emerged that they had conspired to kill him,” said Mr Kumar.
